As part of a broader reform agenda aimed at making the justice system more citizen-centric, accessible, responsive, and professionally efficient, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has placed particular emphasis on the professional development and capacity enhancement of Law Professionals, recognizing that a competent, ethical, and professionally trained Bar is indispensable to the effective administration of justice and the strengthening of public confidence in judicial institutions. In furtherance of this vision, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, during a consultative engagement with representatives of Bar Councils on February 03, 2026, announced this E-Course for Law Professionals. Pursuant to this vision and direction, the Federal Judicial Academy has launched this E-Course as a flagship national capacity-building initiative designed to equip Law Professionals with the knowledge, practical skills, ethical grounding, and professional competence required for modern legal practice in Pakistan. This self paced E-Course, recognized as the practical equivalent of one week of the mandatory Bar Vocational Course (BVC), represents an important step toward bridging the gap between academic legal education and the practical realities of courtroom practice and professional responsibility.
The course covers key areas of legal practice including advocacy and professional ethics, civil and criminal trial procedures, drafting and pleadings, cross-examination, admissibility and relevancy of evidence, execution of decrees, family laws of Pakistan, Artificial Intelligence and ethics in legal practice, and Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms with a focus on mediation advocacy and practice for lawyers. The initiative reflects a collective institutional commitment to reform legal education, elevate standards of advocacy, and strengthen public confidence in the administration of justice.
